LipidLog helps you track and improve your cholesterol between blood tests. It is built and operated by DahVio Studios.
The short version: your health data stays on your device. Your lab results, habit check-ins, and profile are stored locally and are never uploaded to us. We have no account system and no server that holds your health information. The only data that leaves your phone is anonymous app-usage analytics and the purchase information Apple needs to process a subscription.
Health Data You Enter
When you enter lab values (LDL, HDL, triglycerides, total cholesterol), log daily habits, record medication status, or set target goals, that information is stored only in local storage on your device. It is used to calculate your Cholesterol Score, your on-pace verdict, and your projected next result.
This data is not transmitted to us, not backed up to our servers, and not shared with any third party. We cannot see it, and we cannot recover it for you if you lose your device.
Subscriptions and Purchases
LipidLog Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements (in other words, to answer the question “does this install have Pro access?”). RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID along with purchase and receipt information from Apple, such as which product was bought, when it renews, and whether a trial is active.
No health data is ever sent to RevenueCat. The anonymous ID is not linked to your name or email, because we don’t collect either.
Usage Analytics
LipidLog uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used and where it breaks. Events are anonymous and describe actions, not health values. For example:
- App opens and screen views
- Onboarding step completion and drop-off
- Whether a check-in was completed on a given day
- Paywall views and purchase outcomes
- Whether a projection or test-day reveal was viewed
These events record that something happened, never the underlying health values. We do not send your LDL, HDL, triglycerides, weight, step count, or medication status to analytics.
No health data is shared with advertisers, and LipidLog contains no advertising and no third-party ad tracking.
When You Choose to Share
LipidLog can generate a PDF report for your doctor, a JSON export of your data, and shareable result cards. These are created on your device and go only where you send them, using the standard iOS share sheet. We are not involved in and do not receive a copy of anything you share.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because your health data lives on your device, you control its lifetime. You can erase all of it at any time using Settings → Clear All Data inside the app, which permanently deletes your logs, labs, scores, and profile. Deleting the app also removes it.
To request deletion of analytics data associated with your install, or to ask a question about your data, email ray@dahvio.com. Note that because analytics are anonymous and not tied to an identity, we may need the identifier from your device to locate anything.
Children
LipidLog is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice, we hold very little: your health data never reaches us, and the analytics we do receive are anonymous. You can exercise the practical equivalent of all of these rights directly in the app through the export and Clear All Data features, or contact us using the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy as LipidLog develops, and the “last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes to how health data is handled will be surfaced in the app, not just here.
