Cholesterol values (Total, LDL, HDL) convert at ×0.02586. Triglycerides convert at ×0.01129 — a different factor because triglycerides and cholesterol have different molecular weights.
Why the Units Differ
The US, and a handful of other countries, report cholesterol in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) — a measure of mass per volume. Most of the rest of the world, including the UK, Canada, and Europe, uses millimoles per liter (mmol/L) — a measure of molecular concentration. Neither is more "correct"; labs just report your same blood in different units.
